ECG hits the mark: 64 eco-certified campsites for the 2026 season

Jan 22, 2026 | Press release

Aix-en-Provence, January 22, 2026,

ECG (European Camping Group)  has reached a historic milestone in its sustainability journey. The group announced today that 64 of its wholly-owned establishments now hold a leading environmental certification (Green Key, Travelife, or EU Ecolabel), doubling the number of certified sites in just one year.

This massive acceleration is the result of a CSR strategy integrated into the heart of ECG’s operational model. The group is no longer just following standards; it aims to become the European benchmark.

🌍 CSR: The Pillar of the “Sustainable Holidays” Strategy

Since 2023, ECG’s CSR committee has been deploying a roadmap structured around concrete commitments that now drive the group’s investments:

  • Decarbonisation & Accommodation: ECG prioritises the purchase of mobile homes with reinforced insulation and light-coloured roofing to naturally reduce indoor temperatures and limit the use of air conditioning.
  • Resource Preservation: Leak monitoring and recycling of backwash water from aquatic area filters to optimise water use.
  • Biodiversity Sanctuaries: In partnership with the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds), the group is transforming its campsites into havens for local wildlife and developing its own plant nurseries.
  • A Culture of Commitment: Appointment of Environmental Officers at every site to raise awareness among both guests and employees.
